C.A.R.S.S. Jam Session
The latest CARSS Jam Session was a success. It not only produced a night of quality music, but also helped raise funds for local students and their college tuition expenses. The rocking Jam Session featured fan-favorite Joe Rossi on vocals as he sang in the Dole Mansion's Listening Room, and performed along side a variety of acoustic guitarists.
There were about 70 people in attendance to hear the music and raise money for a good cause. The drinks and music flowed freely at the Jam Session, which featured a cash bar for patrons to grab a drink as they listened and danced to the tunes. The acoustic guitarists played a variety of popular covers, including the music of James Taylor, John Denver, the Beatles and more. The crowd sang along, and it was a great time for a great cause. The jam sessions with Chris from CARSS are always fun, full of great music and of course help out a good cause. In all, this latest jam session brought in $850, all of which will be donated to help students at McHenry County College with their tuition expenses. Each Jam Session helps to fund a different area cause. In the past the money has gone to various local causes, including Dream Riders, Home of the Sparrow, and the Crystal Lake Food Pantry. This latest session will help the students at MCC.
Even if you couldn't make it to this Jam Session, you still can help out the cause. To help students offset college expenses at MCC, you can donate directly to the college.
Our next Jam session will be in October. Mark your calendars for Friday, October 27, as the live performers take the stage to raise funds once again for Home of the Sparrow. That evening, 100 percent of the donations will go directly to the agency, which helps women acing homelessness. Follow our CARSS Facebook page to stay updated on all of the details. See you next time!
